ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Commission of Pakistan recommended four names of judges for permanent appointments in Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday. The commission also did not further extend the contracts of Justice James Joseph and Justice Zafarullah Khan Khakwani of LHC. According to sources, the commission recommended the names of Justice Shamas Mirza, Justice Shahbaz Ali Rizvi, Justice Shahid Jamil and Justice Faisal Zaman as permanent judges of the LHC. All members of the judicial commission participated in the meeting with Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali in the chair. The recommended names will now go to the Parliamentary Committee on Judges Appointment, which has the authority to approve or disapprove any name.
